America Sings Accident

Disney’s all-singing, all-dancing musical attraction “America Sings” hadn’t been officially open for a week before a major accident put the show in ice. Deborah Stone of Santa Ana, California, was leading a tour group through the show during a break between musical numbers. It is unclear what happened next, but Stone was caught up in the rotating set of “America Sings” and a stationary wall next to it. She died soon after. It happened so quickly that it was hard to find who was at fault; Stone for being in the wrong place at the wrong time, Disneyworld for failing to train her properly or the park for constructing a dangerous rotating set. Before the show opened again, the stationary walls were replaced with breakaway walls.
